The meeting focused on strategic relations between the United Arab Emirates and the Federal Republic of Germany and on ways to strengthen cooperation across areas of shared interest. The discussions formed part of Sheikh Abdullah’s official engagements in Berlin and reflected continued high-level contact between the two governments.

Sheikh Abdullah said UAE-German relations were based on mutual trust and constructive partnership, describing the relationship as an advanced model of cooperation across different sectors. The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the meeting addressed the development of ties in a manner serving the interests of both countries.

    Strategic ties reviewed

The talks also covered the latest regional developments, including attacks that targeted civilian sites and facilities in the UAE using missiles and drones. The discussions included drone attacks launched from Iraqi territory, including one that targeted the area of the Barakah Nuclear Energy Plant and struck an electricity generator outside the plant’s inner perimeter.

Dobrindt expressed Germany’s solidarity with the UAE and condemned the attacks discussed during the meeting. Sheikh Abdullah thanked the German side for its position and affirmed the safety of residents and visitors in the UAE, while the two sides continued their review of security issues affecting regional stability.

    Regional security addressed

The meeting brought together senior officials from both sides at a time when the UAE and Germany are maintaining close diplomatic engagement on bilateral and regional issues. Germany’s Federal Ministry of the Interior is led by Dobrindt, whose portfolio includes domestic security and other federal interior affairs.

The meeting was attended by Lana Zaki Nusseibeh, Minister of State; Saeed Mubarak Al Hajeri, Minister of State; and Ahmed Wahib Al Attar, UAE Ambassador to Germany. The Berlin discussions added to a series of UAE-German contacts focused on political cooperation, strategic partnership and responses to regional developments.
